Husband Praying the Rosary of the Unborn
    B. C. • January 19, 2011

I had wanted to visit the Maranatha Spring & Shrine all summer, but was especially wanting to come for the rosary on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. My husband was uncharacteristically willing and even cheerful about taking me. I thought the rosary would be on the night of the 12th, not the 11th. By some grace, in the afternoon of the 11th, I was checking out your website and I saw that the rosary and Our Lady was that night. My husband came home in the early evening and despite the inconvenience of it all, brought me to the Shrine. (a 3 1/2 hour trip). I was able to secure accommodations nearby.

It was not a pleasant ride due to the freezing rain, but we managed. I really knew very little about the site, but I saw people going into the chapel. I went in there and was drawn to the beautiful image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. As I approached, I "heard" sit in the third row. Which I did. My husband sat in the car.

As I sat there, gazing upon the beautiful image, I "saw" what looked like to me, Our Lady in the image, but her face was lower than her face in the image, her mouth was behind her hands.

I was there for a long time and noticed people leaving, but I thought the prayer service would be there, at the chapel. Finally, I got up and asked a very nice lady who was still there - what was going on. She told me the rosary had probably already started, but she tried to take me to the site in her car. We couldn't get past security, so I hopped out and walked there, not really knowing where I was going. It was dark, but I still can't believe I walked right past the pump for Maranatha Spring!

I got there in time to complete the last 4 decades of the rosary. I knelt in the soaking wet field during the apparition - with no discomfort or chilling. When it was over, I walked up to the statues and the people were so precious in their innocence and love for Jesus and Mary, hugging the statues and kissing them. From where I had stood, I thought the statue of Mary was Jesus, and v/v. When I got close enough to distinguish the statues, I could see what looked like Jesus somewhat "stepping out" of the statue (I don't know how else to explain it). Like an aura or glowing. It wasn't all around the statue, but in front. I KNOW He was responding with great love to those who were clinging to Him and also I know He was letting me know that He is present there - as I see this similar light emanating from the Eucharist from time to time.

When I returned to the car, my husband having sat there for hours patiently waiting for me, he was fine. We went to the hotel, and even though the weather on Sunday was terrible, he took me back to the Shrine and I got to squish through the field to greet St. Michael and to put my petition in the basket, and also to get some water from the spring.

Since we went, although he does not pray out loud, my husband holds my hand while we pray the rosary for the unborn. He even assists me when time has gotten away from me, and I am too exhausted to say the four rosaries I try to say every day for the unborn. I think that Jesus and the Blessed Mother are working their gentle way on his heart. Please pray for him to convert to the Church.

    God bless the Ministry!
